Yahoo!! It's World Card Making Day, and the challenges have begun! I slept in (yippee!!) and then got started on my first challenge over at Papertrey Ink. PTI is holding four challenges today, and I'm hoping to participate in all of them :)
The first challenge was to take inspiration from Japanese art. Here's the piece that inspired me to pull out some tissue paper and create some flowers:
Isn't it pretty? I love all the watercoloring and those bright red flowers against the muted background. Here's my take - and yep I even watercolored too!!
While this isn't my favorite card, I'm glad that I went down a less than typical path. I rarely watercolor, so it was nice to change up my 'routine'. Can you see that I stamped PTI's Background Basics: Text Style on my card base? I used a small cube of VersaCraft Sand ink and I love the subtle look it gives the card.
Well, I'm off for some grub then to check out Google Reader and leave comments :) Hope you're enjoying WCMD and I'll talk to ya soon :)
