Book It!

I finished listening to The Help on Sunday - it was the best book I've ever listened to!! The narrators (there were 3) captured the essence of the characters so well. I couldn't wait to hear the whole story....in fact, I took care of some cleaning projects just so I could keep listening to my iPod! Even though I couldn't wait to see what happened in the end, I'm kinda missing the characters!!

This book really prompted me to get back into reading more regularly. I go in spurts, but there are a lot of books on the market that I'm really interested in reading. To help with this I thought I'd make a simple bookmark. I used a new image from Rubber Romance - Angelique Swings on a Star

Here's the front of the bookmark:

and the back where I typed out a reading wish list. I can check off the books as I read them.

Well, I'm off to start a book - ironically, it's not on this list! It's a children's novel titled A Season of Gifts. I'm really (really) excited about it because it is a companion to two of my all time favorite kid novels (A Long Way From Chicago & A Year Down Yonder)...all books are written by Richard Peck & are great for the young and young at heart!! I have to get through this book quickly - I have a group of students ready to pull straws to see who gets it next :).....I love kids who love to read!!

First off, you changed your picture, you are a cutie pie! I like your avatar. And that is a cool idea for a bookmark. I have never read that book, sounds like a great recommendation! I just finished Brsingr. And my youngest and I are reading the Wheel on the School.
