VSN - Wilted Lettuce

My next card is for Chef Cindy's VSN challenge - Wilted Lettuce. Cindy recalls learning to make the perfect salad from some spirited Italian grandmothers. So for her challenge, we needed to use lettuce colors (spring mix counts, too!) with beige as the neutral, add a crinkled element, and an Italian sentiment.

So here's my card!

You can see that I went with the colors in the Spring Mix with my crinkly Baroque Burgendy posie. The 'leaves' are made from ribbon loops (I stapled the ends together), and I sewed a big brown button in the center of my flower. The flower was made by punching out flowers from two sizes of flower punch, then crinkling the cardstock, then attaching them to each other while alternating the petal overlap. I printed the Italian sentiment on my computer and broke out my sewing machine - I think I have it in a location now where I can access more easily and more frequently :)

Details:
Stamps - none
Ink - none
Paper - kraft, Baroque Burgendy
Accessories - ribbon (Michaels), sentiment (akaFrivolity), button, embroidery floss, Flower Punch (Whale of a Punch & Paper Shapers extra large - EK Success), sewing machine

I love this... simple and so pretty! I love your colorful card as well... that is funny that we both made a similar card... All of your cards are great. I love the Moxie Fab card.

OK missy...you are card making fool!! I need to know...do you make a ton of cards in the summer to last you the school year? You know I am green with envy! I wish I could have more time to play! Maybe tomorrow!

Of the cards you uploaded today, this is my absolute fav! The stitching on the bottom is just a perfect touch!

Wow Stephanie! You have been busy since I stopped last! I love this one! Love your sewing and the colors are great! My sewing machine doesn't like me! I have tried and tried to get it fixed but it waits until I get paper in it and then it waddles all up. The tension is screwed up since I sewed upholstery fabrics. I love this fun card! Enjoy your weekend!
