Put on your toe shoes...

Or whatever shoes will get you to the MyGrafico Challenge blog the fastest!! It's time for a new challenge!

This week, we're holding a sketch challenge. Special thanks to Stephanie for designing this fun sketch:

And here's what I came up with:

I altered this journal as a gift for my mom's neighbor, Jasmine. She loves to come over & help my mom with little chores. A few months back, she sent out a letter to all the neighbors listing all of the chores she was capable of doing in hopes of earning money for her own laptop. What a cutie!! Maybe she can use this journal to keep track of her earnings :)

I bet you're wondering where I got this adorable ballerina image....it's another MyGrafico digital image!! This little dancer is from the Ballet set, which contains two other ballerinas and some other fun accessories! There's a ruffley dress in this set that I love!!

With my journal, I covered the existing cover with some dp (Perwinkle Buttons from Around the Block). My side panel consists of white cardstock punched with my Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch and black velvet ribbon. My top and bottom panels are layered cardstock rectangles -silver cardstock, black, then white (embossed with the Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder). I added the sentiment (matted on Elegant Eggplant & silver cardstock) with some dimensionals. The font used on the sentiment is Pea Hannah Vanilla.

My circle panel consists of two scallop circles (from silver cardstock) and two circles (one from Elegant Eggplant and the other white embossed with the Swiss Dots EF). I sponged Elegant Eggplant ink around the edges of the white circle. I colored the little ballerina with my Copics (colors listed below) and used my Gelly Roll stardust pen on her tutu before popping her up with dimensionals. Here are two close-ups:

I used prima flowers with silver brads embellished with some pearls as my center panel.

After finishing the journal, I knew it needed something else.....a pencil...with a fun topper!

So I colored and cut another ballerina image and attached it to the pencil with a glue dot. She'll love this! (okay, I admit it...it was fun to watch her dance as the pencil moved!) This pencil topper idea made me think of how this set could be used for finger puppets so easily! What little girl wouldn't love that!

And here's the entire project:

I hope I've inspired you a bit and that you head on over to the MyGrafico Challenge blog and participate in this week's challenge. You have until 10pm (PST) on Sunday to submit your work and you could win some great images from the Ballet set! Please be sure to include the tag "MG08" when uploading to any public forum.
