Get Well Tissues

My mom asked me to make a get well card for her neighbor who just had surgery on her nose. She was hoping for a tissue box, and I'm happy to have pulled this card together.

There are some great stamps with noses or tissue boxes out there, but I don't have any. So I had to think outside the box and create a 'box' for on the card. I cut out a template, added some score lines, punched out a circle opening for the tissues, and voila!! I'm really happy with how cute it is - I definitely will need to make a few more for my stash!

Warm Weather = Chores, Chores, Chores

Don't you just love those first truly warm days of the season? We've had some amazing days here in Western PA - mid 80's. I love the sun, opening up my windows, and the extra energy that it all seems to bring. Then I begin to realize how much stuff I need to do - mowing the lawn, wash the car, plant flowers, clean the basement, and so on and so on... Wouldn't it be nice if I could twitch my nose or nod my head and all of my 'To Do's' would be done leaving more time for the 'Wants To Do' list :)

Anyway, I had a great weekend besides the fact that the podiastrist put me in a removable cast for a few weeks to try to get my ankle to finally stop swelling from my 6 week old sprain. I got together with some co-SCS's at a local scrapbooking store, and we had a terrific time. Here's one of the cards I made. I'm always in need of thank you's, and this was a quick and easy one to make and have on hand.

I used one of my new Michael's dollar stamps which I luckily two weeks ago. I had to travel high and low to get the barnyard animal stamps, so I initially gave up hope for the cupcake ones. I was in Michael's and to my joyous surprise there was one set left. Yahoo!!

Details:
Stamps - Michael's Dollar Stamps (sentiment from clear set)
Paper - DP (Stacy Claire Boyd for EK Success - Stella Collection Picnic Plaid), white, Tempting Turquoise
Ink - StazOn black
Accessories - Stickles (StarDust), satin ribbon, Fiskars punch, markers, paper piercer

Twisted Thursday on Thursday!!

It's Thursday and I completed the Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday Challenge right away this week! Wahoo!! I'm having so much fun with my DCWV Grade School stack - the papers are so bright and fun! Perfect for the many thank-you's I need for my students throughout the year :)

This week's challenge was to add ribbon to the sketch. Check out all the details on Karolyn's blog and be sure to enter your creation in hopes to receive some $$ from Shirley's 2 Girls. There stamps are a great quality besides being absolutely adorable!!

I did sway from the original sketch a bit, and I added the half scallop circle and left off a sentiment on the cover. I tried to place a sentiment a few places, but they all seemed to compete with the DP that has print all over it.

Details:
Stamps - Shirley's 2 Girls Kite
Ink - StazOn black
Paper - DCWV Grade School stack, Cricut green & gold, SU black, HP white
Accessories - Zig Brushables markers, ribbon (Michaels), popdots, Nestabilities scallop circle die, paper piercer

Twisted Sunday??

I got my Shirleys2Girls stamps in the mail about a week ago, and they are SOOOO nice!!! This week, they are hosting two challenges: Twisted Thursday and the 222 Challenge. Be sure to check them out. I won the 222 Challenge last month and got $22 to spend on their terrific stamps!

Here's the card I made for the Twisted Thursday challenge. Karolyn posted this great sketch and the twist was to add flowers or buttons.

I used the What's New set with some fun DP from the DCWV Grade School stack. Isn't Domino the cutest dog!!!

Happy Easter

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and have been well. I've been extremely busy with school stuff and getting quotes on some home improvement jobs I'd like to have happen in the next few months. With all of that, I haven't had much time or energy to get in the craft room. I'm hoping that turns around, but I do know that May is my busiest month at school.

Here are my bunny nuggets that I made at my SCS group get-together last month. I kept forgetting to pick up the pom-poms. I had to quickly run to Michael's on Wednesday night, so I'd have them all ready to pass out to my students on Thursday. They loved them - yep, some didn't dive right into the chocolate but instead saved them to take home.

The bunny's head is from the Michael's Easter Dollar Stamps. I stamped address labels using my houndstooth background stamp from Hero Arts and wrapped them around the Hershey's nugget. I found a little Elmer's school glue worked best to glue on the pom-poms - I tried some 3M glue that I typically use, but the little tails kept falling off.

Details:
Stamps - Bunny(Michael's Dollar Stamps); Houndstooth Background(Hero Arts)
Ink - SU Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery
Paper - white; address labels
Accessories - pom-poms, Hershey's nuggets

Exciting news:
I received an email about a week ago from Stampendous asking for my permission to feature three of my cards on their new blog in addition to providing a link to my blog. Wahoo!!! I'm so excited :) - I didn't even submit anything!! Stampendous Perfectly Clear sets are one of the reasons that I got back into stamping over a year ago. I can't wait to pick up some of their new cling rubber stamps - check them out here.
